Union-College Committee
The Union-College Committee (UCC) meets monthly to discuss the local application of the Collective Agreement, clarify processes causing misunderstandings or grievances, resolve complaints not handled by grievances, and other matters. More about the UCC can be found in the Collective Agreement, Article 7.
The UCC is composed of representatives from college management and the union. Meetings are held monthly with 3 members from the Union Executive and 3 members from Management
Union-College Committee meetings are scheduled for the second Wednesday of each month. Agenda item suggestions can be emailed to christina.decarie@slcfaculty.ca
According to the Ontario Public Service Employee Union (OPSEU) constitution, “The local executive committee shall administer the affairs of the local in accordance with this constitution, the by-laws of the local and the wishes of the members of the local. The committee shall meet at least once every three months. The local president may call a committee meeting at any time to deal with business of an urgent nature.” (Article 29.2.2)
The Local Executive Committee is composed of the union local officers and stewards.
Your LEC Officers meet 2nd and 4th Monday every month 10 am – noon. The full LEC meets every month. Emergency meetings are held as necessary. Agenda item suggestions can be emailed to christina.decarie@slcfaculty.ca.
